Sarah graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013 with her B.A. in History. While there she was an active member of Phi Alpha Theta, serving as the chapter Historian. Sarah is originally from the Chicagoland area so when she moved to Milwaukee she used volunteer work as a way to meet people and learn more about the city. She began volunteering at the Milwaukee County Historical Society and it was working there that helped her make the decision to pursue Public History. Apart from the Milwaukee County Historical Society, Sarah has also volunteered with the small town of Shorewood, conducting tours of historical homes, including the Blatz Beer mansion, and with the Encyclopedia of Milwaukee where she traveled around the state and tracked down photos and images of Milwaukee’s past.
A few years ago Sarah made a personal goal to see every MLB stadium – mainly to try to the different foods at each park, and in 2007 her goal brought her to Philadelphia and she instantly fell in love with the city. In the past seven years she has been able to visit a few more times and each time she's grown more and more enamored. Sarah is incredibly excited to not only have a chance to live near Philadelphia but also to become a part of Villanova this fall.
Sarah spends most of her free time at ice rinks with her son watching him play hockey, at 10 he has already found his passion and she's hoping this helps him adjust to the new area fairly easily! As a self-proclaimed foodie she also loves trying new restaurants and her time in Milwaukee has taught her to love outside festivals.
