Guy Sechrist

Guy graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.  He also graduated with both a philosophy and sociology minor.  While attending Kutztown University, he presented five of his larger research papers at numerous conferences. He was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta in 2013 and served as the vice president of the Alpha Kappa Delta (the national sociology honor society).  Over summers, he was worked an array of odd jobs such as conducting foreign military sales for the U.S. army at USASAC (U.S. Army Secrurity Assistance Command) as well as helping develop mobile applications for the Army War College in Carlisle, PA. His first summer after freshman year of college, Guy independently traveled to Bavaria for two months and helped tutor English at the Karl von Richter Gymnasium.  He is currently employed as a state delivery driver for Sherwin-Williams Paints.

Guy’s main interests in history include, but are not limited to, the history of science, medicine, and ideas pertaining to early modern France and Europe. He would like to focus on the establishment of institutions such as hospitals, clinics, poor houses, prisons, and universities from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. He is very interested in early modern French history, predominately focusing on the Enlightenment.

When not pursuing history, his hobbies include backpacking, traveling, brewing beer, drinking said beer, relaxing outside, and playing with his dogs Winston and Louis.  He can be contact by email or at (717) 612-8688.
