Alex graduated in 2012 from York College of Pennsylvania with a BA in History. At Villanova, her concentrations are Women & Gender and Modern Europe with an emphasis on the East-Central portion at the cultural and transnational levels. She also finds herself increasingly interested in environmental history and applications of the digital humanities -- GIS in particular -- in historical inquiry.
She is a Features Intern at History News Network and a Teaching Assistant in Dr. Lynne Hartnett's Twentieth Century Russia course. In her spare time she serves as an editor for CONCEPT, Villanova’s Graduate Arts & Sciences journal, and an Ambassador for the Graduate Student Council. She is a 2013-2014 recipient of the Graduate Studies Service Award.
Outside the academic realm, Alex enjoys being (deceptively) outdoorsy, watching and reading things by individuals whose names frequently end in -sky or -ski, homebrewing, and window farming (until she gets a yard, or at least a fire escape). She has knowledge of German and Polish, neither to an impressive extent, though both probably better than she gives herself credit for. You can contact her through email or LinkedIn.
