Michael Johnson



Mike Johnson graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2012 with a degree in History, United States concentration. While at Notre Dame he was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the history national honor society, and Phi Beta Kappa, a national academic honor society, and also served as a Gilder Lehrman History Scholar. Mike's interests include nineteenth century United States history, the American Civil War, and Irish-American history. During his senior year he won the University's O'Hagan Award for his essay on the Fenian Brotherhood, an Irish nationalist group active after the Civil War in Philadelphia and other American cities.  


Mike is looking forward to continuing to study nineteenth century American history at Villanova. While a student he continues to work part-time at the American Institute for History Education, as well as the company's sister organization Franklin's Opus.
