Michael Thompson

Mike graduated in 2011 from Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois. While enrolled at Quincy, Mike served as the president of the Xi-Mu chapter of Phi Alpha Theta and was a member of the university mock trial team that advanced to the opening round of the 2011 AMTA Championship Series. Upon graduating, Mike immediately put his BA in History and certification for Secondary Education to good use by taking a year off to manage a small free range chicken farm south of Chicago. Several thousand hand washed eggs later, his academic interests were rejuvenated and he enrolled at Villanova.

Initially, Mike pursued a concentration in Modern US History with an emphasis on 20th Century Foreign Relations, but after working on a collaborative project with the National Archives he realized that he was most passionate about Public History. Working in Public History has allowed Mike to continue studying diplomatic and cultural history while also providing the added challenge of developing effective interpretive strategies. Currently, Mike works as an intern at the Harold Pitcairn Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum in Horsham, PA. He can be contacted through email.
